Two Feet on the 2R

“Two Feet on the 2R” is my latest piece and it, along with two others, will be in the Trappings of Texas show in a few weeks. This 14” x 18” colored pencil on sanded paper features Rusty Schroeder and his three year old gelding, “Prince”. I collected the reference photos several years ago on the 2R near Henrietta, Texas. Rusty shared that “Prince” was “real laid back” and that Clayton Hoff raised him. He worked rally nice for Rusty that day.
I did a piece called “Tied on to Tradition” from that same day of Rusty’s dad, Bob. The Shroeder family is a multi generational ranching family and now, Rusty has his own family and is raising them to live and love this way of life. It is an honor to feature the shroeder family in my work!
