The Chosen One (super size canvas)

“The Chosen One” original was colored pencil on sanded paper. In this piece, Tyler Weatherford has roped a young horse from the remuda for the afternoon gather and the gelding resisted being drawn out. Tyler, with patients and gentle pressure, draws the colt to him and here we see how the gelding has quietly submitted to him. The reference photos are thanks to one of my wonderful trips to Tongue River Ranch. The material I have gathered there is priceless but nothing compared to the opportunity to know the people and share the story of these wonderful ranch families!

In this piece, Tyler and "Cinco" can remind us of how sometimes Christ has to gently get our attention and draw us to him to remind us we are His Chosen Ones!
